Large gap under doors

Hello

Be grateful for advice on this.  The carpenter seems to have cut the bottom of the doors so there is a gap of 35mm between the floor and bottom of the doors. This does seem a bit of a big gap if carpet is 10mm, and underlay is also 10mm thick  ?

Not sure if we should be putting something on top of the floors to bring them up otherwise there will be a draft and unsightly gap.

Any advice much appreciated.

Do you have MVHR? If so then doors do need larger than normal gaps underneath.

if not then yes the gap is excessive. Have the doors been cut while fitting or were the frames too high?

Leave it for now. Sometimes carpet plus underlay seems to be thicker than expected. Ours was and we had to get carpenter back to cut some more off doors. Get these fitted and if the gap is still too big, and you don't have mvhr get them back then. Even without mvhr a gap helps air flow but also encourages noise transfer.
