ChristophC Posted January 21, 2022 Share Posted January 21, 2022 (edited) Hi everyone, sharing a bit of a disaster story with you. I’m hoping someone will be able to point out what went wrong. BACKGROUND NuAire mrxbox-eco3 fan (right hand side) was replaced due to constant knocking noises. Pulled the metal cover, styrofoam, and removed the two cables leading to the fan motor (1 grey, 1 black). Installed the replacement fan and wired in the two cables. When turned on, the vents in the flat are operating in reverse e.g. wet rooms and kitchen supplying air instead of extracting and bedrooms are extracting instead of supplying air. Prior to the install of the fan, the vents were flowing in the correct direction - no changes were made to the duct works. Since the wet rooms (shower) is supplying air instead of extracting, the humidity sensor is not triggering the boost. Any ideas on what went wrong? ProDave Posted January 21, 2022 Share Posted January 21, 2022 Note the direction of rotation of the NEW fan. Then temporarily re connect the OLD (you don't need to mount it in the unit) and note it's direction of rotation. I bet they are opposite. Do that test and let us know. Are you sure you didn't end up putting the sytrofoam in wrong (backwards?) such that the wrong ducts are connected to the wrong chambers? I doubt that the fans are running backwards (squirrel cage fans, assuming that's what they are, can't even blow air the opposite way - they'd still blow air in the same direction spinning either way but just poorly if reversed) - I think it is a air channelling issue.
