Painters caulk cracks

Hi all

i am currently doing a self build and painting all the skirting and architrave myself.

i bought polyfilla decorators caulk as was always told to get a decent one as opposed to the likes of screw fix version and applied to all areas needed ( I was generous in application ) and then have done 2 coats of mdf primer ...

does anyone know if these cracks will disappear when I apply my finish coats / gloss ?

any thoughts or help welcome .

thank you

Hi, couple of points:

definitely doesn’t look like MDF.

have you used the caulk to form a fillet at the corners as you would silicon sealer?

what primer did you use?

was it bare wood or previously painted?

the paint looks very thick, primers are designed to get hold of the surface so thick applications can affect anything underneath.

It's difficult to tell exactly what we're looking at.  Is the second pic a bit of quadrant in a corner?  Anyhow, I'd give the mdf a good rub down with some fine sandpaper and another coat of paint, then caulk it again.  I don't think you can rely on paint filling those gaps I'm afraid.  Oh, and caulk after you've primed, not before.
