Flue regs

Recommended Posts

Got my flue in with access hatch all good .

Unfortunately the fitted wardrobe will literally end slap bang in the middle of the hatch ?

What are the regs on this ?

Hatch size I mean ? . Presumably it’s just so a carbon monoxide test could be done in the flue ?

Can I wardrobe across the opening ? ( removing the hatch door of course.  But access for a monoxide test still do able .

Can't you put noggins across and keep the hatch clear? Only a small wardrobe - does it even need the central support?

That supports the end of the wardrobe ?

It’s part of 4 all bolted together . Can’t run it the other way either .

Not sure of the point of the hatch anyway . It’s a straight run flue so nothing serviceable in it ….

Can't you put a small hatch to the right, under where you have had your pocket squirrel out (again)?

Yes . I was more concerned about the min size hatch regs - if there were any ???! ???

Mind you - when I asked my BCO about Part J flue regs before starting my chimney  (I haven't done one before as all my previous stuff was flats and commercial) he admitted that 'he didn't have a clue' and suggestd that I ask the brickie.

If I were you I would just bury it behind the wardrobe and forget about it.
