overlapping wallpaper and how to remedy! help!

Hi,

 

Does anyone know how to best deal with overlapping wallpaper - say about 1mm due to uneven walls.

 

I used a patterned wallpaper and it only happened on three drops of wallpaper. where the wallpaper is lined up perfectly, but towards top, there is a small overlap - I guess you could ignore it, but because I know it is there, it irks me.

 

Is it possible to fix this - cut it away with a stanley knife perhaps?

 

I checked on Google but all they have are answers on how to deal with overlapping vinyl wallpaper, and my wallpaper isn't vinyl.

 

Any advice would be appreciated.
