110mm soil pipe

morning all, 

 

i know i shoul dgoogle this but busy day so i thought i would ask.  110mm soil pipe comes in different colours, is this to do with some sort of specification for building regs?

morning and nope, personal choice, although underground brown is often used because it resembles clay pipes so easier to distinguish from ducts

That’s not correct. 
 

Underground pipe is specifically designed and has different plasticisers used to above ground soil pipes which have increased UV stabiliser added which reduces flexibility. Underground pipe is manufactured to different BS/EN standards to above ground soil pipe. 
 

Above ground soil is BS4514/BS-EN1329:2000

 

Below ground is BS EN 1401-1:2019 or  EN 13476-2  for foam core / multi core. 
 

They are not interchangeable as their BBA certificates state.

As above, the brown is for underground only, black above. BC allowed me away with a small section of underground pipe above ground where it joined to a bend, all I had to do was paint it to protect from UV damage.
