False chimney breast

Hi all,

 

just looking for a bit of a steer. We have a multifuel stove professionally fitted by a Hetas installer as a bare unit, stove flue going 3/4 up the wall and out of the side of the house to external flue.

 

We are thinking of retrofitting a false chimney breast around the stove.

 

From what I have read, a false chimney breast appears to be general building work, not requiring certification by Building Control. 
 

We are thinking provided we have it installed with stove manufacturers/regulation at suitable air gap distances with perhaps A1 material or brick surrounding the stove itself, with the rest of the false breast away from heat made from metal stud and plasterboard. We will include vents, inspection hatch and monoxide alarm inside the breast.

 

If we have to disassemble the stove flue, then we would get this checked/resealed and re-certified by a Hetas engineer.

 

Before I call Building Control to verify, does this sound a reasonable/correct approach?

Using the metal stud is fine But you will have to Vlad it with cement board prior to plaster-boarding

As PB is considered combustible
