Tiled step edge suggestions

Hi All,

I have a step to tile - and I was wondering if you have any suggestions /tips /advice on how to finish the edge. It will have high traffic - it is a step from the living room to the (new) kitchen......

I had an old trim that I was trying out... the stylre works ok, but curious to hear your thoughts. I'm also worried a trim won't last the test of time.....

Alternative is no trim - tile to tile - but it looks a bit $hit i think.

Hope to hear,

Neil

The step that is to be tiled

No trim (tile on tile)

Tiles with a trim in between (maybe a diff color).

The second option, with the trim, looks better to me.

Although, thinking about it, won’t you want something visual to show where the step is, otherwise people will keep tripping up it?

maybe something like this?

If you are doing them yourself an edging strip may be a good option

Though-a strip is rarely used on commercial As they are prone to damage

I normally tile the up stands and use a gauge to square the step  then tile the top of the steps You  will need a tile with a fully glazed edge
