ianfish Posted May 25, 2020 Share Posted May 25, 2020 (edited) I have uncovered what seems to be a steel pipe in the kitchen which sits just below the floor joists and next to the external wall. I think this maybe the original gas supply. We only have the boiler which seems to be supplied with 28mm copper pipe. On the other wall. If this grey pipe is redundant how much could I expect to pay to have a gas plumber check and remove this pipe. It's bang in the way if a new 110mm spil pipe' s new location. H inside and out if possible If it were mine, I'd find the ends, see if it's capped, if it's open then happy days. If it's capped i'd consider opening it up, but be prepared to be isolating the gas and calling a plumber if it is live. Best do it during a period where you can live without the boiler for a few days do it can be done at leisure rather than an emergency call out. ianfish Posted May 27, 2020 Author Share Posted May 27, 2020 Had one gas plumber today who suggested to give the pipe a shake! He didn't think it has a supply either as he can see our gas supply.
