Community Build

GCARTON

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Moving back to Scotland after a number of years abroad. Am intersted in learning more about community self builds, where a group of like minded people come together and do a small housing development that is suited to their needs and budgets. Does anyone know where I can learn more about this, show me examples and also if a forum exists where folk can post about potential projects to join or to advertise projects for others to join.

Thanks,

One of our own @scottishjohn has a large site and may be interested in community self builds.

yep the jetty would be ideal spot ,but i would want to sell it as one lump and you can work out the details.

maybe an a gated ECO village would make planning happy

Kirkmabreck Quarry - Plan (3).pdfI attach the site plan

notice the A75 is actually owned by me -LOl

maybe need to take some expensive legal advice on how to maximise  its value

certainly will make dealings with planning for access much easier i think

some one suggested a truck stop? 40miles from stranraer --40 from dumfries --so maybe --but not for me to do

Don't shout that too loudly, you might get the bill for maintaining it.

I think that goes with the Right of Way, apart from certain circumstances.

If the A75 route was established by invading English, then they probably have a RoW ? .

already talked to transport scotland and they maintain it ,but do not own solum

should make it very hard for planning to stop any access to a75  when somone goes for planning --but no i cannot block it and charge a toll
