Hiya,

Am looking into getting some prices for my house to be plastered.
There is about 340m square Of float n set and 350m square of skimming on plasterboard.
Anyone throw some light on the subject as to good meterage pricing for the above mentioned?

£4.50 -£7.00 skim

£7.00 -£10 FS

Lower price up to 2.7

S&C add 1.50 m2

Prices for NW  Add 30% for Manchester

May give you some idea for budgeting

Ah thank you.
i Had a quote to do the whole job supply as well for £10 per m2.... good ?? or bad ????

I’m a contractor and have lads working for me

If you get an individual or gang

They should be a little cheaper

£10 all in is good

While your job is quite a small job

3 days for two men to skim

5 FS

They should have similar or larger jobs that you could have walk round That they are on with or just completed

There is a massive difference in finishes amongst plasters

Your going to be looking at the walls a ceilings for a long time after they have gone

Keep a small retention

Quite normal

Thank you for your feed back nod, just not too sure on pricing. He reckoned he could do the whole thing in 10-12 days. As I would be giving them the whole house to do without any stops.
Not saying you can’t trust trades but as soon as you mention it’s a self build most of them think you are minted!!! Lol

Too right. Not so easy to find good plasters now thanks to the amount of taped and jointed plasterboard about.

We used to do 50 -50 wet and TJ

Now it’s about 25% Tape and Joint

There's a big of a myth about TJ being faster and cheaper

The labour rates are the same

Material are a little more expensive for TJ

Its worth paying a little more for a company and get really good finish

The my builder type guys are pretty terrible
