ASHP buildings/home insurance

Hi All,

I'm in the process of purchasing a new build with an ASHP. I've been looking into the builings/home insurance and I can't see much of anything specific to ASHP cover.

Since the heat pump is outdoors it’s susceptible to wind/storm damage, fallen trees etc. Maybe even theft?

Is this something covered in most policys by default or something I need to be specific on?

Any recommendations for companys to look at?

I've an ASHP still under RHI when I bought the property. No questions as to how the place is heated and no issues at all with 2 insurers and various quotes.

 

No recommendations as I've a holiday let on site and that's enough trouble in itself.
