Hello.

         Could anyone please advise ?

What is the thread size found on a standard 22mm compression fitting ?

It seems to be 14tpi and is slightly larger than 3/4bsp.

Thank you,   Pete.

are you trying to mix bsp +metric?

and why do you need to know ?

I don't think there is a standard for the 22mm.

If you are trying to fit something else to a compression fitting then I tried to do this recently. Someone here pointed out that the inside of the fitting is tapered to squash the olive onto the pipe - so it makes a poor seal if you want to use something else that uses a regular washer. I was able to file off the taper enough to get a good seal but only just. Probably better to use the correct adaptors.

It caught me out too when in a previous house I wanted to swap a defective stopcock.  The trouble was the outside stopcock in the street shut off my house and the neighbour.  "Don't worry" I told them, "it will only be off for 10 minutes"

I ended up disabling and sealing the leak in the old stopcock and fitting my new one above it.

Different fitting brands use differing thread sizes and there is no standard 22mm compression nut thread size unlike 15mm compression fittings which are (almost) always 1/2” BSP. But you can easily go to a BSP thread by using a 22mm to Male/female iron in whatever thread size you need.

I can honestly say ihave never had a problem swopping dif makes of nuts on diferent make of compression fittings at same size

be it 22mm in line srvice valves or angle 22mm -- all seem to be same

just never had a reason to find out --

plenty of 3/4bsp to 22mm fiitngs out there if thats what you wanting to do

question still stands why do yo need to know --what are you trying to do ?
