Aldi special buy, online only; Scheppach HP100S plate compactor for just shy of £300 delivered.  That's way cheaper (~ £150) than I can find it else where.  I've ordered one to sell on when I've finished landscaping.  (Yeah, I know, I'll end up keeping it if it's any good...?)

well, was it any good!

Still got it!  I was pleasantly surprised; seems well made, starts first pull and does the job.  To be fair, I've still got a few jobs to do with it before I think about selling it, but I reckon I'll get back most of what I paid if I do.

This might sound daft but what is it useful for other than compacting hardcore?

That's about it.

I bought mine second hand from ebay for £120 and have had half that back already by "hiring" it to two locals.  I still have the driveway to finish properly so will be keeping it for a while longer before I sell it.  I might even turn a small profit when I eventually sell it.

Knife Block Clearance

I have just purchased a big knife block from Procook on clearance.

Currently available at £40 for the big one that takes 10 knives (up to 25cm blade in longest 26m slot). Or £25 for the small 6 knife one.

Here:

https://www.procook.co.uk/shop/special-offers/clearance

Also, at Procook if you spend £60 you get a free large chef's knife or vegetable (chef's knife minus point) or santoku (with side scoops) knife from their X50 range, which are the one's I use and like. There are also offers for the  above blocks with either 10 or 6 knives for about £230 or £130. Note that the current free knives have beech handles.

I've virtually equipped my entire kitchen from Procook over the last 3 years, as I have a local branch.

Amazon have a "Prime Day" coming up Oct 13-14.

I am not really clear what this is or does, but it seems that money spent on other things first gives £10 of Credit, and I think there is 2% off or extra Amazon points.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/primeday/

Some benefit especially if you have purchases planned.

From today: smart home range from Lidl - Zigbee 3.0 compatible. With the gateway at £19.99 and a smartplug at £7.99 it's not a bad way to "try before you buy".

The only thing I don't like is E27 are 806lm only rather than 1500+ that we currently have, but hopefully there are other compatible bulbs to choose from.

I'm looking at a Land Rover defender 110 on bidspotter, and wondering whether other people have bought things through bidspotter and if so what your experiences have been? I've found very little by way of reviews online, and am concerned about spending money on something I can't go and view.

Thanks!

I want one but need to rationally justify it. Such a label maker would benefit a self builder because:

  1. I could label all the the Cat-6 cables I am going to thread through my house.
  2. Under floor heating pipes at the manifold?

Anything else?

I tried a new source of multitool blades, these ones   https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-10Pcs-Universal-Oscillating-Saw-Blade-34mm-Multi-Tool-Blades-Wood-Metal-Cutter/383890454134?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=652230171936&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

£11.37 for 10 blades

They fit my Parkside (Lidl) multitool and seem to be lasting well.
