BLOCK AND BEAM INSULATION Panels WANTED!

Recommended Posts

Trying it on here now.

I am looking to buy any block and beam floor insulation. The stuff that is t shaped, fits in between the beams.

The manufacturers of these insulation panels (tetris, jablite, readytherm.....) do not sell the insulation separately but only in combination with buying the concrete beams. So they only selling the complete floor system.

I m trying to get around that as I can get many parts of the floor for cheap or free( e. G. The concrete beams would be close to free, the top layer of the on top insualtion, very cheap). If anyone  on here should have :

- connections to block and beam insualtion

-leftovers from own block and beam floor

-option to order more infill panels for their own block and beam floor

Please get in touch. Would be massively appreciated.

When I looked at mine I couldn’t understand why the infilled panels had to be a funny shape. Why can you not use 100mm thick eps 200 cut to 450wide to replace the blocks, then another layer of 100mm eps 200 on top glued down with a concrete topping for strength and rigidity.

Dont know why they need to lap under the beams.

that seems just the solution for a problem i expect to have on my build --due to exsisting house being built on bed rock

no space for insulated founds without jacking up whole build  ,which then would mean raising all exterior ground level  or ramps

 will examine that option closely

True. It s just for using the full thickness of the beams. Talking about the t-shaped panels, that sit in between the beams all the way, not the ones that wrap under it.

Only bonus is that it needs less insualtion on top, so "thinner" floor.

but you re probably right, for the sake of 5-10cm

If that’s what you need just make them.

150mm eps make a hot knife and cut it out.

Should be easy with your German background.

Oh oh hold on I think I’ve seen you with a saw.

All joking aside, that looks very straightforward to do.

You could make them off site somewhere warm and dry and bring to site.

I think you will find some insulation co will cut to desired shape.

You could even just use two different thicknesses and glue together.

Or glue two layers together top one wider than the bottom. That way only straight cuts.
