Do i need these air vents? Please see photo

Could someone advise me on what these red bricks are running along the front of my house wall? They look like vents maybe however i already have air vents at the bottom of the wall if you see the picture.

I want to remove the red bricks but not sure if i should or not.

All the houses down my street are the same style/design however mine is the only house with these odd red bricks vents.

Please advise.

Given there's an air brick ventilating the underfloor void, it's hard to know from that photo quite what those other things are doing.

So they look like a terracotta damp tube - they were a "passive" cure for damp that was tried a while back from a Dutch company.

 

And they don't work !!

Looking a little deeper at the problem the root cause of the damp problem in the house in the video is that an old property which presumably has no dpc or cavity was then smothered in a cement render that prevents the masonry walls from venting off moisture through evaporation.

 

Could this be the root historical problem at the OP's house?
