Like it's the first time! ?

Don't make go to the shed and film unclipping one of mine!

Just ordered some self tapping screws at 100mm long so will just screw through the timber into the metal frame . Less hassle than breaking the cistern !

True. Still looks tight too me . Also the Geberit original destructions do only show fitting from stud into metal frame.

You didn't do it the Geberit way!!! UMMMMMM!!! ?

  • 3 weeks later...

Timbered around the f ing sliding door .

Put the tray in dry to test . Going to be a bit too tight .

Marine ply ontop Walls (12mm) then delta tile backer board . Trays not going to fit ( see space left and right of tray ) .

What can I do ?

Can I cheat a bit and have tile backer board just down to the tray edge ? I.e not down the sides to the floor ? - that allowed ?? (Saves 8mm per side )

I think @nod said forget the marine ply and just screw delta board direct to studs . I like marine ply because it’s strong and makes fixing anything else easy .
Could just delta board it , staggered , taped joints .

When I’m adding strength to MF

Bathrooms or otherwise

I just have a pack of 12.5 delivered to site direct from the saw mil

Usually works out around £8 a sheet

If the water was to get as far as the ply You are stuffed even if it is marine ply

Once over most our jobs involved MP Wouldn’t like to think what price it is now

A horizontal delta board covers this wall . Assume no need to deliberately cut and stagger ? Or should I ?

Right - flipped a coin , will cut and stagger .

If your boards span edge to edge you don’t need to stagger for the sake of it

But if they don’t Then stagger

You will be surprised how solid the walls feel once they have tiles on

So just delta then . I did think that . Marine ply or plaster board underneath- if the waters there it’s a problem anyway .

Like the delta board fixings . Not sure about the ‘special’ screws , sure they are just drywall screws .

Anyway , any suggestions what I do at this door frame edge ? . If I delta board the edge and tile it ;will stick out past the Eclisse ( grrrrr ) door frame . Is there some ‘mat’ that can be fixed to timber and can be tiled directly on ? ( answer cannot be ct1 ) ?

Yeah ? . Please link to a liquid tank ? You can just tile straight into it ?

I thought you were well aware of liquid tanking systems? This is the one I used. Forms like a rubber membrane. Yes you just prime it with tile primer and tile onto it.

Yeah in a wet room I understand.

I was going to delta all walls . Tape joints , then I believe you smear tile adhesive along the taped joints .

Important note ! For anyone using delta board . As I was advised ‘printed’ side out . I did have a board that appears to be printed on the wrong side . So check first . Not sure if photo will show the difference between 2 printed sides ....

There’s a global pandemic, what’s the solution ? Use ct f ing 1 !
