Our Willis heater based UFH doesn't seem to be working as advertised. The problem as far as I can see it is that the flow rates through the various UFH loops are nowhere near high enough and I can't get them any higher. We have a total of 11 loops and as I understand it the flow rate through the various UFH pipe loops should be 0.5 litre/min per 20m pipe, so for example one of our pipe runs is 90m long so it should have a flow rate of 2.25 litres/min. First question, is the above correct?
Does anyone have experience of using a smart wi-fi spur with IFTTT and Ocotpus Agile? I’d like to use one of these to tell my Sunamp (and Willis heaters when/if we need them) to fire up when the Agile price goes below a set figure. Would one of these do the trick? https://wifi-smart-home.co.uk/smart-wifi-spur-switch-32-amp-pure-glass/
Hello, On your very wise advice, I have asked for a Willis heater for my UFH to be used until I can afford ASHP/Solar etc. My builder's quantity surveyor is trying to price for the quote and says the only ones she can find need to be connected to cold water storage and have a main hot water cylinder. Is this correct? We are very tight on space, and have no room for a cold water tank. Also I was going to have an immersion heater but would a twin coil be better as future proof? It's a PITA not speaking to a plumber and going through the builder's QS. Please can you recommend makes as she wants exact spec for pricing? The first plumber gave eyewatering quotes for everything I can't afford 😂
