  1. Hi The pressure on my vaillant ecotec plus boiler is creeping up by about 0.2 bar a day with the system OFF. I removed the grey handles on the filling loop and tightened both valves with a screwdriver, but the problem remains. Both valves have to be open on the filling loop to repressurise the system, so does this mean that both valves must be, leaking , which seems unlikely, or is it possible just one valve is faulty and if so, how do I find out which one it is? Or is there any other possibility? Any help appreciated.
  2. Hi So im getting an intermittent (once a day ish) F75 on my 2014 ish vaillant ecotec 831. Heating is on, all fine, for minutes -> hours then F75 appears and heating goes off. When I turn the boiler switch off and back on it goes away, HW and heating ok, then it comes back. Checked the electronic pressure sensor, it was always 3.8, so I changed it. New sensor works fine but intermittent F75 still present. Then I noticed the off the pressure was creeping up by about 1.5 bar a day, so I removed the handles from the inlet valves and tightened the valve with a screwdriver, problem solved, pressure stable at 1.6. But intermittent F75 remains. So im stuck any suggestions appreciated.
  3. We have a Vaillant Ecotec 637 system boiler that is about 7 years old. Was working fine until last night when a leak at the local water main caused Thames Water to switch the water off for the whole street without warning. It was off for about 16h. When they turned the water back on this morning we noticed our boiler wasn't working. We tried turning the tap that feeds it with water, that didn't seem to do much. When we switch it on, the blue LED screen just flashes with the word "loading" coming up on the screen, as it makes an intermittent whirring sound. It doesn't progress beyond this and just keeps doing that until we switch it off. No actual error code, nothing in the trouble shooting area of the manual. Any ideas?
  4. Looking to have a Vaillant aroTHERM PLUS air source heat pump and uniTOWER 7kW installed in a well-insulated barn conversion for UFH and DHW. Can anyone confirm that this set up has everything required, as one quote adds a whole load of other stuff including a buffer tank, which I thought was already included in the uniTOWER. The quote was also around 3x the cost of the system on the Wolseley site with £3500 labour so if anyone knows of any good MCS installers on the Surrey/Hants borders then perhaps let me know. https://www.wolseley.co.uk/product/vaillant-arotherm-plus-air-source-heat-pump-and-unitower-7kw/ Thanks.
  5. Hi all, First of all my apologies if I have not approached this correctly, it is my 1st time ever on a forum. Im having issues wIt’s my approx 7 year old Vaillant Ecotec 624 boiler, it heats our water cylinder from approx 2pm-3pm, has 3 bedroom rad, 1 small hall rad & a towel rail rad on the system along with 2 zone underfloor heating, all set to come on at staggered times. During the summer when it’s heating the water there is no problem at all, during the colder months the system seems to lose water pressure Then it shuts down and a code comes up on the digital display (F something, I have forgotten but can find out) and I keep needing to top it up, this happens every approx 2 weeks. Sometimes it won’t let me top it up until I turn on a tap. there seems to be no leak anywhere, we have also replaced the pressure relief valve but to no luck. My local plumbers call, twiddle a few things in hope that it’s fixed to no prevail. Would anyone out here have any solutions? Thanks again for reading and to anyone that can help! If you need any info or pics please let me know. dan
  6. Hi Nick I have a similar problem with a slow pressure drop with a new Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28. Daft question but how do you find the leaks and where are they? Before I had this new boiler fitted we thought there was an underfloor pipe leak as two radiators required constant bleeding. All radiators work fine now except one upstairs which is a bit slow but we don't get any air in them at all now.Any help much appreciated as I must have topped up the pressure about 6-10 times in the last 3 months. The plumber says it's not the boiler but that was some time ago. I am also a little concerned about the use of leak sealer. Plumbers must have put about 3 lots in during the last 6 months but so far as I know Vaillant do not prohibit this. If anyone knows otherwise please let me know thanks. Last but not least, I can't find the PRV on my boiler, there certainly aren't any external pipes. All pipes are well insulated and I am wondering if it was plumbed into the condensation pipe which seems to be constantly dripping down the drain. It's a large diameter pipe so no problems with icing up ;-)Thanks
  7. Old edwardianl house with a forty year old central heating system. Modern Vaillant combi boiler that has to be regularly repressurised with mains water. This suggests a weeping joint in the system somewhere - but there us no visible evidence - may well be under the ground floor floorboards (or elsewhere). What is the best approach to finding the source of the leak? Are there any tools available whch I could hire for instance?
