  1. Just to preempt any concerns, all the works below will be carried out by a qualified electrician. In the process of buying a house and just trying to get a head start on planning electrics. As I am trying to eliminate untidy mess is putting a Henly block inside a consumer unit allowed? I only need a 3 way (1 in and 2 out) for 25mm 100A and seems a waste to have yet another thing on the fire resistant board when there is a load of space inside the consumer unit. If not allowed does such a thing as a 3 way din rail connector of this size exist and would this be allowed? Thinking of something like this with 1 x in and 2 x out Or this but for 25mm cables
  2. I'm drawn to things which compensate for my weakened hands. Bumping into Quickwire connectors for lighting circuits caught my attention, therefore. Yes, they are expensive. But, together with one of those automatic wire strippers, I stand a chance of making good, workman-like joins. It's an expense that I just have to ignore. @Onoff, @ProDave, @JSHarris, @Construction Channel, what do you think?
  3. It seems to be my week for thicky questions, or certainly naive ones. I've only ever had one dishwasher and this has finally given up after 18 years of service, so I know very little about all their bits and bobs. The new one is coming tomorrow, so we were taking out the old one this evening. Crack, spray, squelch. The plastic part that is on the end of the water inlet hose and between that and the connector that screws into the dishwasher broke and is beyond repair. Is the part that screws into the new dishwasher a standard thing, or do they vary in size from brand to brand? Can I just walk into a plumbing supplier and just buy a new one, or do I need to order from a supplier?
  4. Hi, almost certainly a question for our resident eggspurt @Nickfromwales The picture below shows the connector to join the 32mm ground pipe to the 22mm internal pipwork. The brass is (I think) just one of those bog standard 1" tank connectors. But the male union thread on the other fitting is plastic. Whats the best method to join these? I'm concerned that too much PTFE tape/chord could cause the plastic thread to strip or crack. This joint is going to be buried in the wall so I need to be sure of a permanent connection. Ta muchly in advance.
