  1. Finally today after an 18 month wait the water company have done the 5 metre trench to connect us to the mains. They wouldnt let us do it - although we had done the other 100 odd metres to their satisfaction they insisted on their contractors for the last stretch - and on a 3 day closing order for the private drive which is also a bridleway. We all told them (including their own contractors) it would take less than a day but they wouldnt budge. In the event the whole thing was done in less than 2 hours. I am so happy to have mains water on site at long last feel like crying! Hoping they might get the UFH and boiler connected up today or tomorrow so we can get some heat going.

  4. To round this up... Engineer did worst case point load calc with data taken direct from Norbord. Huge margin of safety in the end. BCO happy and thanked me for providing the extra detail. Happy days.

  5. Contrary to popular belief, induction doesn’t just heat the small section of the pan over the loop - conduction in the pan causes the pan to get hot too so the 23/24/25cm sizing won’t be an issue.

  6. Yeah, all i can see is 10mm too: https://www.toolstation.com/shop/Plumbing/d20/Pushfit/sd3143/Radiator+Pipe+Guide+N+Seal/p63699 Can't imagine you'd find 15mm ones, as the PEX pipes wouldn't bend sharp enough, like the 10mm ones do.
